Using tar.gz:

tar -xvzf jdk-25_linux-x64_bin.tar.gz
sudo mv jdk-25 /usr/lib/jvm/jdk-25

Update your environment (~/.bashrc or ~/.zshrc):

export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/jdk-25
export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH

source ~/.bashrc  # or source ~/.zshrc
